How to find which application is using the PORT in Windows ?

Lets see an example to find which application is using the port 5001.

Step 1: Find PID of the process

D:\Lab\CodeForEach>netstat -aon | find ":5001"

TCP     0.0.0.0:5001          0.0.0.0:0     LISTENING     5964
TCP     127.0.0.1:50014     0.0.0.0:0     LISTENING     14516

PID of process using the PORT 5001 is 5964 from above result.

Step 2: Find the application using above PID

D:\Lab\CodeForEach>tasklist | find "5964"

iperf.exe     5964     Console      1     3,532 K

 

Result

Application : iperf.exe

PID : 5964
